Your Success is Our Goal

A college education can be strenuous, and many students need academic assistance. We offer a variety of programs on the Lamoni Campus: developmental courses, academic advising, tutoring, and writing assistance.

CAP Center (Career, Academic and Personal counseling): The CAP Center provides academic advising, and helps students evaluate their interests before selecting a Major. The CAP Center also evaluates freshmen students' academic progress and provides personal counseling. Resume writing, internships and job searches are also facilitated by members of the CAP team.

Institutional Support Services (ISS): Provides developmental courses in math and English for freshmen, as determined by admissions criteria.  Lamoni campus students may request tutoring, as long as the student attends class and a tutor is available. Tutors are hired and trained by the Tutor Coordinator.

Student Support Services (SSS):   Is a federal TRIO program funded by the Department of Education. The goal of the SSS program is to increase the postsecondary persistence and graduation rates of low-income, first-generation college students. The SSS program offers one-on-one tutoring, academic advising, financial literacy, personal counseling, connections to outside resources, and student advocacy.  Selected participants must meet the federal eligibility requirements of the grant and utilize all program services. Eligibility does not guarantee program selection.

Writing Center: Provides a supportive environment that assists students with their academic writing.
