Assistant Professor of Nursing

Prof. Jacques teaches Critical Care Nursing and Informatics. Critical Care focuses on Emergency and ICU Nursing. As an Emergency Department Nurse, Critical Care has been the focus of much of her career as well as her passion. Being able to incorporate her knowledge of care of critical patients into teaching the next generation of nurses how to handle those situations when people’s lives are at stake is one of her favorite things about teaching Critical Care. Informatics focuses on the technology used in healthcare and in the nursing field. As this technology touches all parts of nursing, it forms a building block that students will grow from and continue to use throughout their entire career.

According to Prof. Jacques, what drew her to the Emergency Department was the constant change and every shift being different. You never know what you are going to see in the Emergency Department and there is always the chance to see something new. She enjoyed the constant turnover of patients and being able to care for a variety of different patients and conditions.
