Campus Minister, Director of Spiritual and Religious Life, Adjunct Faculty

As the Campus Minister, Mike teaches RELG 1700/3700 Missional Ministry and Leadership Practicum to help prepare students for bi-vocational ministry. He believes the church and culture are witnessing shifts that will require graduates to apply the ethics of Christ’s peace to change our world.

As an adjunct professor, he teaches INTD1100 Critical Thinking in the Arts and Sciences. This first-year seminar provides students with an introduction to the model critical thinking found at Graceland and introduces students to important resources for their academic success. In this capacity he serves as the first-year advisor for those students who are enrolled in my session of INTD1100, helping them to plan their first and second semester schedules.

In student leadership development, he serves as the advisor the Council of House Chaplains as part of Graceland Student Government, supervisor to the Campus Ministries Associates (student employees), and adviser to the Acacia yearbook team, comprised of student employees.

I am a minister in Community of Christ and seek to uphold and live out the church’s identity, mission, message and beliefs within the context of Graceland’s values of Learning, Wholeness and Community. I discovered Community of Christ while I was a college student and hope to keep Graceland students engaged with their spiritual/religious life in meaningful ways.
