The music faculty is dedicated to developing an elevated level of musicianship, and have many opportunities to perform in vocal and instrumental ensembles. Graceland offers a wide range of ensembles, including symphonic band, jazz band, chamber singers, concert choir, orchestra, percussion ensemble and The Steel Deal Steel Pan Ensemble, and a variety of chamber ensembles. Whether your interest is to become a music educator, performer or participate for personal enrichment, Graceland offers you a wealth of opportunity to engage in music at a high level.
We seek to create a community of artists whose values embody a culture of excellence, whose skills prepare them for relevant and meaningful careers in their chosen field, and whose character imbues integrity, professionalism, and strength.
Our performing ensembles are open to any Graceland University student regardless of major course of study.
We offer multiple performance ensembles in band, jazz, orchestra and choir. In addition to these, various smaller ensembles are formed each year according to student interests and have included a variety of smaller vocal ensembles, string quartets and various instrumental ensembles.
$15,000 – renewable for up to four years.
Graceland University offers two renewable ProMusica scholarships annually to talented and promising Performing Arts majors with interest in any aspect of music whose academic qualifications and demonstrated musical abilities indicate that they could make a significant contribution to the university’s Performing Arts Department.
Variable amount up to $9,900 - renewable for up to four years.
For students who are passionate about music and/or theatre and are committed to actively engaging with the Performing Arts Department at Graceland. Performance scholarships are available for choir, band, orchestra, percussion and theatre.
