LAMONI, Ia. — Athletic Director Brady McKillip and Vice President for Enrollment Management Scott Briell announced the promotion of Nate Robinson as Graceland University’s new head football coach early Friday.
“Nate’s commitment to the Yellowjackets football program over the past five years is evident,” said McKillip. “He has the skills and the knowledge to grow and advance our team’s goals in the coming season.”
Associate Athletic Director Zack Mullins led the search committee and said, “Throughout the process, it became clear Coach Robinson brought some things to the table that really stood out. His ability to create and build relationships with players, his noticeable commitment and care for not only the football program but for the success of each individual student-athlete, and his range of experience working alongside multiple departments on campus were things the committee, as well as the administration, saw as key pieces for our football program moving forward.”
Robinson has been a part of Graceland’s staff since 2014 and has held many roles on the Yellowjackets football staff, serving as coach for running backs, wide receivers and special teams. In addition, he served as academic coordinator, director of football operations and junior varsity head coach. He has recruited extensively during his time at Graceland, and has directed all travel operations and budgeting.
Briell stated, “Nate’s accomplishments as a football coach have helped build our program over the past five years. Additionally, his presence on campus as an active part of our community is important to Graceland, and we are so thrilled to see him take on this new responsibility. The program is in good hands.”
Prior to Graceland, Robinson served as the wide receivers’ coach at his alma mater, MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois, and as the running backs’ coach at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania.
