Scott Briell was hired as Vice President of Enrollment Management (VPEM) last fall and has hit the ground running. He comes with enrollment experience and marketing savvy that will provide Graceland with needed leadership. Scott earned a Master of Arts in American Studies at Pennsylvania State University and most recently has been the VPEM for Iowa Wesleyan College. Prior to Iowa, he served as VPEM for Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia.
In his acceptance, Scott stated, “Effective enrollment management lives at the intersection of market and mission. While the enrollment team is currently enjoying success at Graceland, I feel that I can make the program stronger and implement change that will ensure continued growth. I have a record of success and relish the opportunity to make Graceland an even stronger institution.”
Nicole V. Briell was hired in January as Graceland’s Director of Retention. She comes with proven experience in this area after working at Iowa Wesleyan as the Director of the Office of Academic Success and Inclusive Support. Nicole received her MEd in Education from Brenau University. She brings a passion for ensuring student’s academic success and will help the Graceland community work together to increase retention and persistence.
“I really have a heart for helping students be successful. I am a first generation college student; my husband is as well. We both persisted and had to overcome obstacles, and so that’s a passion of mine – to help other students. As a parent, I am also concerned about the academic scholars, and so the main theme in the retention center is to help both ends of the spectrum. The hope is to have all students involved in the success center.”
Welcome to Graceland, Briells! Scott will bring in students, and Nicole will help them graduate!
