Admissions Counselor

Lamoni, IA Campus Graceland University is searching for an Admissions Counselor based out of the Lamoni, IA campus. This position will function as one of a team of admissions professionals responsible for the annual recruitment of Graceland’s Lamoni campus entering class. Though Lamoni campus educational experience is the primary focus, they must also be committed to assisting in recruiting students interested in all programs offered through both campuses.

Admissions Counselors participate in a broad range of student recruitment activities both in person and virtually: visit high schools and attend college fairs, build relationships with, and serve as a resource for prospective students and their families, assist with the planning and implementation of special programs, and develop growth markets. It is required that they also perform collateral assignments, committee work, and other duties as assigned. Extensive travel alone, or with others, and evening/weekend work are required. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree, well-developed communication, planning and organizational skills, familiarity with current communications technology (including social media), the ability to articulate the value of a liberal arts and sciences education, the ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external partners, and the ability to connect with students and families from diverse backgrounds. Must be self-motivated, results oriented, energetic, able to relate effectively to other people, able to manage multiple tasks, and have effective and persuasive public speaking and writing skills. A valid driver’s license is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in college admissions counseling, recruitment, higher education, public relations, sales or marketing desired. The ideal candidate will be a graduate of Graceland or another liberal arts college. We are looking for applicants who share our commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
