Adam Martin, PhD
Associate Professor of Political Science
At Graceland since 2012.
I hail as an undergrad from a small California liberal arts college like Graceland and consider this educational setting my home. My initial scholarly focus was on peace, war, reconciliation and forgiveness. More recently, my teaching and research has addressed the politics of religion, questions of identity, ideology and the Other, especially in regards to current debates about immigration. My favorite political scientist is Shakespeare!
In my spare time I like to read philosophy, poetry, classic literature, and on occasion, popular science. I’m an avid NPR listener! I also love to travel, having visited Britain, Greece, Turkey, Canada and Scotland for study, business and/or vacation, and I've interned and lived in Washington DC.
