To ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for all visitors, Graceland University requires that all campers comply with the following policies:
- Identification
- Registration is required for all RVs or travel trailers.
- Campers must register within one-half hour of arrival on campus property.
- The number of people per parking/camp site must be disclosed at the time of registration.
- All people 16 years of age and older will be required to present a valid photo ID when requested by university security (or personnel) during official check in.
- Site Occupancy
- 1 RV or travel trailer per site
- Additional vehicles (including golf carts, scooters, etc.) will need to park in a non-hook up paved location if they do not fit safely within your reserved site
- No parking in grass, on curbs, or sidewalks.
- Please respect space limits and neighboring sites.
- Overnight camping allowed in other parking locations without hook ups on west half of parking lot.
- Charging of Electric Vehicles is not allowed. Public charging for electric vehicles is located at Amish Country Store/ Maid-Rite (near I35 exit).
- Maximum length of stay is 5 consecutive days or a total of 14 days per month. (Campus contractors are exempt from this requirement as they are working on campus.)
- Site/Location is not guaranteed; we reserve the right to move you to a like location if available if necessary.
- Parking Permit
- A valid parking/camping permit is required for each RV.
- The permit must be displayed on the front passenger side window and clearly visible from the front of the vehicle for security to see.
- Failure to display a permit will warrant contact from Campus Security and possible eviction from campus or towing of vehicle(s) at owner’s expense.
- Camping Policy
- Occupants are responsible for keeping their site clean during their stay.
- All trash and debris should be removed from your site and deposited in designated dumpsters located behind Resch Science and Technology Hall or the Morden Center during and after your stay on campus or kept in your camper/RV.
- Washing of RVs/campers is not permitted on campus.
- Ground Disposal of any drain water (gray or black) is prohibited by State Law. Wastewater must be disposed of through sewer connection at designated site(s) only.
- Pets
- Pets must be leashed at all times when outside your vehicle.
- Tethering pets to trees, poles, benches, etc. is prohibited.
- Noisy, vicious, or unruly pets are not allowed.
- Designated location on the Southwest corner or West side of the Morden Parking/camping sites for pets to use the bathroom Pet owners are required to immediately pick up and properly dispose of all solid waste deposited by their pet outside that designation location.
- Guests are responsible to clean up after their pet.
- Pets may not be left outside unattended.
- Pets are prohibited in buildings and inside gated sports facilities.
- Graceland University is not responsible for and will hold accountable pet owners for any injury or damage caused by pet(s).
- Check-In/Check-Out
- Check-in: 12 p.m. (noon) or after
- Check in before 4:30 p.m. Mon-Fri: Call 641-784-5197 to inform campus personnel of your arrival. They will take your information and forward to Campus Security prior to their rounds.
- Check in after 4:30 p.m. Mon-Fri or all day Sat & Sun: Call 641-784-5199 to notify campus security of your arrival.
- Check-out: 11 a.m.
- Quiet Hours are between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
• Overnight camping rates are $15 per site until Oct 31, 2025, thereafter $25 per site.
• No refunds once paid/reserved.
- Safety
- No open fires allowed on campus without permission from campus security prior to starting fire. (All open fires must be contained in portable fireproof firepit. Fire cannot directly touch campus grounds.)
- No weapons, firearms* or fireworks** of any kind permitted
*Firearms include all guns including air soft, BB, and pellet guns.
**Fireworks include sparklers, smoke bombs, aerials, and firecrackers
- Compliance
- Failure to comply with these policies may result in loss of camping privileges, removal from campus property, and/or towing of owner’s property at their expense.
- Policies and rules for camping on campus are subject to change at any time at the discretion of Graceland University.
- Graceland University is not liable for any damage to individual’s personal property or personal injury while on the premises.
- Any person on premises is responsible for any property damage they cause to the university or other people’s property while on campus, including any personal injury incurred by their actions.
- Parking on campus property is consent that you have read and understand these policies, even if you have not officially registered your stay on campus.
