Student Success Studio

Our mission is to help students become successful, serious and self-aware individuals who graduate from Graceland and move on for advanced study and/or productive careers that help them live rewarding lives. The atmosphere in student services is a friendly, accepting and personal one where students feel welcomed and accepted for who they are. Each student is challenged and supported to grow as an individual.

Housed in the F. M. Smith Library, the Student Success Studio is a hub for students to gather to work on computers and participate in study groups. The Studio provides academic counseling, study space, tutoring, a writing center, and peer mentors. It is home to Freddie’s Cafe, complete with food and drink options such as Aspretto coffee with flavored syrups, a variety of drink and snack items, and a limited grab-n-go menu of sandwiches and wraps. A destination focused on bringing students together with academic success in mind.

  • Tutoring

    Your Success is Our Goal

Institutional Tutoring: We strive to provide as much support to help you navigate the rigors of academics. Therefore, group tutoring will be available as needed via Zoom and in special cases face-to-face. Please check your email for days, times, and the link to the Zoom meeting or location. If there is not a group tutoring session and you would like one, please contact Dr. Roger Powell at or tutoring@graceland.edu. If a tutor is available, and people attend the tutoring session, then additional group tutoring sessions will be set up

Institutional Support Services (ISS): Provides developmental courses in math and English for freshmen, as determined by admissions criteria. Lamoni campus students may request tutoring as long as the student attends class and a tutor is available. Tutors are hired and trained by the Tutor Coordinator.
