Graceland University Instructor of Percussion and Director of Athletic Bands Melinda Leoce, MM, was a featured guest artist at the Percussive Arts Society Virginia and Washington, D.C., Day of Percussion Saturday, April 27. High schoolers from both regions came together in Harrisonburg, Virginia, for a day of masterclasses, clinics and performances. Leoce offered an interactive presentation on Brazilian samba batucada and coached four high school ensembles from the region. Leoce then presented a clinic to the Furman Percussion Studio at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, Monday, April 29.
