Graceland Nursing Student Tests a City of Independence Worker for COVID-19

When the City of Independence announced the reopening of their buildings, they needed someone to help them test city workers and others entering the building for business, so they reached out to the Graceland University School of Nursing for help. Graceland Assistant Professor of Nursing Shawnna Jackson, RN, MSN, PHNA-BC, previously worked for the Independence Health Department and helped coordinate the effort.

Nursing students have been assisting in the effort by taking temperatures onsite, not only providing an important service to the community, but getting work experience as well.
