Graceland University Assistant Professor of Allied Health James Geiselman, DC, MS, EMT-P, initiated a conversation with his alma mater, Logan University, that has led to a partnership between the two universities in which students are the winners.

Combined with his passion for educating the next generation of health care providers, it was the similarities Geiselman saw in the two universities – a conservative health care model, an interdisciplinary team approach, and a commitment to whole patient care – that prompted his passion to connect them.

The 3+3 articulation program will allow students to complete their first three years of undergraduate study at Graceland, then transfer to Logan University to start the Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) program there.

By the end of their first year in the DC program, these students earn credit hours needed to complete their bachelor’s degree programs from undergraduate colleges while satisfying the basic science requirements and the first year of graduate studies leading to the Doctor of Chiropractic degree. The combined process can save them time and money.

Logan University currently has 3+3 agreements with more than 50 colleges and universities in the U.S., however, Graceland is only the second institution in Iowa to develop such a partnership.

“There’s a lot of competition for chiropractic students in our area, being that we are not far from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Palmer in Davenport and then Logan in St. Louis,” said Geiselman. “It’s exciting for Graceland University students who may not have ever had an exposure to a chiropractic program before.”

If you have questions regarding the 3+3 program with Graceland University and Logan University, please contact Dr. James Geiselman by email at jfg1@graceland.edu or by phone at 541.784.5081.
