The Visual and Performing Arts Department at Graceland University is seeking a full-time Shaw Center Technical Coordinator, starting immediately on the Lamoni, Iowa, campus. Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree is desired. Certification in areas relevant to this job, such as rigging and/or audio/visual technology and operation, is also desired.

The successful applicant will have experience working in a performing arts center and will have a working knowledge of the technology and equipment required to ensure that all forms of performances, conferences, and other cultural events run smoothly. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, processing reservation requests for all events and provide services, maintenance, and facilitate improvements in the Shaw Center. The successful applicant will need to have strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills in order to achieve top quality customer service for the various individuals who use the Shaw Center each year. Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, Shaw Center event set-up and take-down, provide lighting and AV support for events, rigging, overseeing administrative and budget aspects, writing proposals for capital improvements and purchases, maintaining equipment, and hire, train and supervise a crew of student employees. Training and professional experience in AV for in-person meetings that involve Zoom and live streaming events is strongly preferred. Record of successful teaching and commitment to undergraduate teaching at a liberal arts institution is a plus.
