Graceland University Associate Professor of Communication Raquel Moreira, PhD, co-chaired and participated via Skype in the panel “Whose Survival? Limitations and Possibilities of Queer Imaginaries,” sponsored by the National Communication Association’s caucus on gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer concerns Nov. 16. The panel discussed possibilities and limitations of queer imaginaries as tools of survival. Specifically, panelists were asked to interrogate conceptualizations of queerness, queer imaginaries, queer worldmaking and queer utopias through various perspectives, including intersectional and transnational approaches.
