Graceland University Associate Professor of Communication Raquel Moreira, PhD

Graceland University Associate Professor of Communication Raquel Moreira, PhD, published the book chapter “De-Whitening Intersectionality through Transfeminismo” in the edited volume De-Whitening Intersectionality: Race, Intercultural Communication, and Politics, edited by Drs. Eguchi, Calafell, and Abdi, and published by Rowman & Littlefield. The chapter argues that Brazilian transfeminismo provides a fruitful way to rescue Black feminism’s intersectionality from white feminist studies’ problematic highjacking of the framework while challenging communication studies’ “white problem.”
