The state of Iowa ranks number one on U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 Best States ranking, which evaluated each of the 50 states based on eight categories: health care, education, economy, opportunity, infrastructure, crime and corrections, fiscal stability and quality of life.

The story was to the Office of the Governor of Iowa website. Iowa moved up five spots from the 2017 list of best states.

The U.S. News & World Report article sites infrastructure, health care and education as being top factors for Iowa’s success on this year’s best states rankings. According to the article, Iowa has taken the reigns on ultra-fast broadband access, leading the country in the number one spot. Iowa ranked in the Top 10 in additional categories, including health care (No. 3), opportunity (No. 4), education (No. 5) and quality of life (No. 9). For more details, read the full article here.
