Graceland University is pleased to announce several recent honors that showcase the university’s institutional success. The Princeton Review has again named Graceland as a “Best in the Midwest” college for 2017, a designation received by Graceland every year since 2012. U.S. News & World Report has also ranked Graceland as a first tier regional school for 2017, a designation also earned each year since 2012.

Graceland University President John Sellars stated of the announcement, “I am pleased that Graceland University is recognized as a first tier academic institution, and I appreciate the efforts of our staff and faculty that make this ranking possible. Their work and this designation prove that Graceland continues to be a good choice for students to pursue their education and prepare them for great success.”

Also this year, U.S. News & World Report has ranked Graceland’s online graduate nursing program as 20th in the nation and the online graduate education program as 22nd in the nation, and has recognized Graceland in the top 10 online schools with the highest six-year graduation rate.

U.S. News provides nearly 50 types of rankings to help student with their college search. Rankings are determined by data from each college on up to 15 indicators of academic excellence, including class size, ACT/SAT scores, acceptance and graduation rates, retention and alumni giving rate.

For the “Best in the Midwest” designation, The Princeton Review rates four-year higher education institutions on six factors: academics, admissions selectivity, financial aid, fire safety, quality of life and environmental sensitivity. This year, for the second year in a row, The Princeton Review has also named Graceland as a “Green College,” in a group of schools with the most exceptional commitments to sustainability. This designation is based on schools’ academic offerings, career preparation, campus policies, initiatives and activities.

Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs, Brian White, said of the announcement, “These national recognitions simply reaffirm what all of us have always known about Graceland: it is an exceptional place. Graceland is deeply dedicated to academic quality and the profound impact that has for our students much later in their lives.”
