Graceland University Appoints Athletic Director
Joe Worlund ’80

Vice President for Enrollment Management, Kirk Bjorland, is pleased to announce that Joe Worlund ’80 will be the Graceland University Athletic Director effective Nov. 1. Joe comes with 33 years of experience in athletics, and most recently held the Associate Director of Athletics position at Washington University in St. Louis. His wife, Pam (Freeman)‘81 Worlund, is from Lamoni and the two are excited about coming home to “the Hill.”

“Joe brings a wealth of experience working with athletes and coaches. Graceland is fortunate to have his insight and fresh perspective to lead our athletic department,” noted Bjorland.

Worlund stated, “I enjoy working with student athletes, on and off the field. It has been my life calling and I think I can make a difference for Graceland. I look forward to working with the coaches and staff, especially Matt Shelton, who has done a fabulous job in the role of Interim Athletic Director. Together with a focused vision we can take Graceland to new heights.”
