Graceland University Professor of Psychology Brian Smith, PhD, and his colleague Sal Meyers shared a synchronous presentation, “Strengthening Students’ Willpower by Teaching Self-Control Strategies,” at the first-ever virtual Lilly Conference on Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.  The presentation encouraged participants to teach students to use implementation intentions (“If this situation occurs, then I will do X”) and backward planning to meet their academic and other goals. Smith continues to serve as a Lilly Ambassador.
