Academic Honors Day

You're the kind of creative, motivated, high-achieving student that Graceland University is looking for. That's why we're asking you to join us for a special Academic Honors Day to learn more about where your talents can take you at Graceland.

Academic Honors Day is an opportunity for high school seniors and transfer students with a 3.5 or higher GPA to be rewarded for their academic achievement. By participating in Academic Honors Day, students who attend classes on the Lamoni campus can guarantee themselves a scholarship renewable for up to four years. The day begins at 10 a.m.

Throughout the day, students will get a chance to:

  • Meet current Graceland students and ask questions about campus life
  • Learn more about Graceland’s Honors Program by interacting with honors students and Honors Program faculty

The day will consist of several sessions including:

  • essential education session 
  • interviews
  • a student panel
  • optional campus tour

Graceland University’s Academic Honors Day will be held on November 14, 2020, February 6, 2021, March 27, 2021 and April 17, 2021.

Four students will be recognized as Prestigious Honors Scholarship recipients, and other eligible students will receive the Scholar Awards. All participants will receive $1,000 for competing at one of these events. Each competitor will go through an interview process as part of their eligibility.

PRESTIGIOUS HONORS SCHOLARSHIP – Full tuition per academic year, renewable for four years, or if the student does not receive the full tuition per academic year, then $1,000 - $3,000 per academic year.

Eligibility:
Minimum high school cumulative GPA of 3.75 and minimum composite score of ACT-27 or SAT-1280 (in leu of test scores, the applicant may instead answer one of two 250 word Alternative to Testing questions on the Honors Application).

Application Procedure:

  1. Entering first year or transfer students must submit a Graceland Application for Admission.
  2. Have your high school, college or university send your official transcript.
  3. Submit ACT/SAT scores.
  4. Complete the Honors Program application and supporting materials. 
  5. May be required to file FAFSA annually (U.S. Citizens).

Eligible candidates interviewing on campus will be evaluated on academic success, communication and leadership.

Prestigious Honors recipients must participate in the Honors Program, maintain a 3.75 GPA and take required Honors courses each academic year at Graceland University.

 

 

SCHOLAR AWARD - $1,000 - $2,000 per academic year or $4,000 - $8,000 over four years.

Eligibility:
Minimum high school or college cumulative GPA of 3.50.

Application Procedure:

  1. Entering first year or transfer students must submit a Graceland Application for Admission.
  2. Have your high school, college or university send your official transcript.
  3. Submit ACT/SAT scores if available (optional).
  4. May be required to file FAFSA annually (U.S. Citizens).

Eligible candidates interviewing will be evaluated on academic success, as well as communication and leadership.
