What is Prestigious Honors Day and Academic Honors Day?

Hosted by the Honors Program, Prestigious Honors Day and Academic Honors Day are opportunities for high school seniors and transfer students with a 3.25 or higher GPA to be rewarded for their academic achievement.

Only students who participate in Prestigious Honors Day have the opportunity to receive the coveted Prestigious Honors Scholarship – up to a full-tuition award that is renewable for up to four years. To be interviewed for the Prestigious Honors Scholarship, students must have a 3.75+ gpa.

Students with a 3.25+ gpa are invited to attend the Prestigious Honors Days or the Academic Honors Day. They will be interviewed for Honors Scholarship and admission into the Honors Program. Students who are admitted and participate in the Honors Program will receive $500 each year renewable for up to four years.

The day begins at 9:30 a.m.

Throughout the day, students will get a chance to:

  • Meet current Graceland students and ask questions about what life is like on the Lamoni campus
  • Learn more about Graceland’s Honors Program by interacting with honors students and Honors Program faculty

The day will consist of several sessions including:

  • Academic session
  • Interviews
  • A student panel
  • Optional campus tour

When Are Prestigious and Academic Honors Days?

Graceland University’s Prestigious Honors Days will be held on November 18, 2023  and February 10, 2024 for HS seniors. There will also be an additional Prestigious Honors Days for HS Juniors on April 13, 2024.

Graceland will host an Academic Honors Day on April 20 virtually for HS seniors.

Scholarships Available

Three students will be recognized annually as Prestigious Honors Scholarship recipients (one Prestigious Honors Scholarship is awarded at each Prestigious Honors Day). Each competitor will go through an interview process as part of their eligibility.


PRESTIGIOUS HONORS SCHOLARSHIP – Full tuition per academic year, renewable for four years.

Eligibility:
Minimum high school cumulative GPA of 3.75 and minimum composite score of ACT-27 or SAT-1280 (in lieu of test scores, the applicant may instead answer one of two 250 word Alternative to Testing questions on the Honors Application).

Application Procedure:

  1. Entering first year or transfer students must submit a Graceland Application for Admission.
  2. Have your high school, college or university send your official transcript.
  3. Submit ACT/SAT scores if available (optional).
  4. Complete the Honors Program application and supporting materials at least one week before the Academic Honors Day that you will be attending.
  5. May be required to file FAFSA annually (U.S. Citizens).

Eligible candidates interviewing will be evaluated on academic success, communication and leadership.

Prestigious Honors recipients must participate in the Honors Program, maintain a 3.75 GPA and take required Honors courses each academic year at Graceland University.


HONORS PROGRAM AWARD – $500 per academic year for up to four years.

Eligibility:
Be able to participate for at least 4 semesters in the program, have a minimum high school or college cumulative GPA of 3.25, demonstrate outstanding writing skills, and score a 25 or higher on the ACT (1200 or higher on the SAT). In lieu of test scores, the applicant may also answer one of two 250 word Alternative to Testing questions on the honors application. (Not available for Prestigious Honors Scholarship recipients).

Application Procedure:

  1. Entering first year or transfer students must submit a Graceland Application for Admission.
  2. Have your high school, college or university send your official transcript.
