Talent Search

Talent Search (TS) is a federally funded grant program from the United States Department of Education. TS provides activities to 800 eligible participants in southern Iowa and northern Missouri with services that will help them realize that college is a reality in their future. The emphasis is to provide educational activities which will promote success in school and life.

Eligibility for Talent Search Participants

  • Students currently enrolled in grades 6th-12th
  • Students ages 11-27
  • Students who have dropped out of high school or post-secondary school
  • Veterans – no age restrictions

Dear Parents:

The TRIO Talent Search program is a federally funded grant that serves students in grades 6-12 in eight area schools. We work with school principals, counselors and teachers to provide career and college bound activities, field trips and cultural workshop experiences for your child.

The U.S. Government requires us to receive a statement of financial eligibility for our grant auditing purposes. If you would like to refer your student to the Talent Search Program at Graceland University, please complete the confidential parent application/income verification form (see link above).

Participants in the TRIO program qualify for benefits and post-secondary financial opportunities.

ACT Test Information

The ACT test is administered at Graceland University in Oct. and April, annually. For current test dates and how to register, visit

Fee Waivers
ETS participants are eligible for two fee waivers for the ACT test depending on classification. See your ETS advisor or guidance counselor to obtain this form.

Test Preparation
ETS advisors schedule preparation workshops to help students successfully complete the ACT test.
