Graceland University Libraries: Interlibrary Loan

Graceland University’s Libraries participate in a program of borrowing from and lending to other libraries throughout North America called Interlibrary Loan. This enables students, faculty, staff, and card-holding community members to request library items unavailable at the F.M. Smith Library. These items are shipped here for you to check out.

There are no restrictions on what types of items you may request through Interlibrary Loan. However, due to other factors such as cost and time, we mostly only borrow from libraries in the United States and North America.
To find items, you must use WorldCat Discovery. This is a catalog that shows holdings for libraries all over the world.

How to use WorldCat Discovery (PDF)

Most physical items requested from WorldCat Discovery arrive at our library for you within two weeks. Check Out times for these items vary depending on who we borrow from. Most items can be renewed.

Articles

Many of our databases have a link that allows you to request the article over Interlibrary Loan. These article requests are typically processed and e-mailed to you within 1-4 business days.

Borrowing articles is only available for Faculty, Students, and Staff. Anyone requesting an article is required to provide us with their graceland.edu or sting e-mail address.
