Barb Voshall, DNP
Professor of Nursing
Barbara Voshall, DNP, is professor of nursing for Graceland University’s School of Nursing on the Independence, Missouri, campus. She has been with Graceland full time since 1999 and has been a nursing educator since 1976.
Voshall’s nursing experience is in ICU. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Graceland College in 1973, obtained a Master of Science in Medical-Surgical Nursing in 1976 from the University of Kansas and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Oakland University in 2011.
Voshall is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, American College of Medicine, and International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL).
She worked as a clinical nurse specialist in cardiovascular nursing and a critical care educator for multiple hospitals through the 1980’s. She then worked in outpatient cardiac rehabilitation for 20 years. Voshall believes in life-long learning and continues to strive to learn and stay up-to-date with health care.
Voshall has been married for 47 years to a physician, and they have two grown sons: one works in computer science at a bank and the other currently teaches computer science at the University of Nebraska where he completed his PhD in Bioinformatics.
