Kyung Eun Park, DSc, is Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Information Technology at Graceland University. She holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Computer Science from Seoul National University in South Korea. In December 2012, she completed her Doctor of Science in Information Technology at Towson University in Maryland. 

 

Dr. Park’s doctoral dissertation, Collaboration Framework for a Context-Aware Environment with Multi-Device Enabled Applications, is based on RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) and USN (Ubiquitous Sensor Network) middleware and rule-based context-aware collaboration technologies.

 

Initially, Dr. Park’s career focused on developing GIS (Geographic Information System) applications at the Korea Telecom Research Center and developing Spatial Object-Relational DBMS. More recently, she has been conducting research on game-based behavior treatment with BCI (Brain-Computer Interface) and a motion-sensing enabled narrative training game platform, which helps children with ADHD improve their attention and behavior and develop social skills.

 

Dr. Park joined the Computer Science and Information Technology department at Graceland in the fall of 2018 as Assistant Professor. Prior to this position, she taught at Towson University, located in Towson, Maryland, as a full-time lecturer of the Department of Computer and Information Sciences beginning in 2013.

 

In her spare time, Dr. Park plays golf, watches movies and cooks Korean dishes including Kimchi. She is excited to share her time and dishes with her colleagues and students at Graceland University.
