My areas of teaching emphasis include adult neurologic rehab, movement science, and pain science. I am American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties board-certified in neurology and clinical electrophysiology, and most of my 17 years of clinical experience included management of patients with neurologic and/or pain conditions across a variety of settings.

Optimal treatment in neuro and chronic pain requires a skillful blend of art and science. Not only do you need to understand the patient’s medical condition and associated pathology; you need to adapt your knowledge and treatment within a biopsychosocial model that best meets the patient’s needs. The interplay between obtaining scientific knowledge and translating that knowledge into authentic human connection has kept me curious and engaged throughout my physical therapy career!

I have lived in four US states, one foreign country (Germany), and one sovereign nation (the Navajo Nation). These lived experiences helped inform my commitment to fostering learning communities which emphasize inclusive excellence and belonging.
