As the university does a national search for a program director, Graceland Vice President for Academic Affairs named Assistant Professors of Allied Health James Geiselman and Andrew Miller as interim co-directors.
“We have spent countless hours working on this program to make it the best evidence-based program around,” said Geiselman.
The comprehensive curriculum features robust coursework focusing on the evidence-based foundations of nutrition and human performance, followed by specialized concentrations in sport nutrition and performance or health and wellness promotion that allow students to follow their passion and collaborate with like-minded professionals.
Geiselman touted the program’s uniqueness. “The program is special because it offers students a top-quality education at an affordable price. The faculty are dedicated to their success and can’t wait to see how our student learn and grow.” Miller continued, “The program is online, affordable, and student-focused, allowing for students from all walks of life to come and be a part of a community that is driven to help students develop meaningful and productive lives.”
The global fitness industry is booming due to a variety of different factors and this degree provides opportunity for career advancement to exercise physiologists, fitness trainers, nutritionists, recreational therapists and more.
Geiselman and Miller expressed their excitement about the program. Miller said, “This program will enhance students’ knowledge, experiences, and skills, but also give them the ability to learn from the diverse students enrolling in the program driven by the value of the open and free pursuit of truth.” Geiselman emphasized the online aspect of the program, saying, “I’m excited for our students. I’m excited that we are able to offer a program of this quality to our students. Since this program is online, we can offer students from all over the country a Graceland experience.”
