The University is addressing a teacher shortage with a flexible program for working adults.
Graceland University is excited to relaunch its teacher education completion program at North Central Missouri College, in Trenton, Missouri. There is a significant need for teachers across the state of Missouri, but particularly in rural areas similar to those near Trenton. The program is also offered at Graceland’s Independence, Missouri, campus, and this extension aims to address that need, putting quality teachers in the classroom.
Designed specifically for working adults, classes in the program are delivered in a cohort model that emphasizes the development of a supportive community of peers throughout the curriculum. Classes will be offered at North Central Missouri College on Monday and Thursday evenings. For added flexibility, during the first three 8-week terms, one of the classes will be online.
“The world is in need of caring educators now more than ever,” said Tanya Coffelt, EdD, Department Chair of the Gleazer School of Education at Graceland. “Graceland University is committed to ensuring that rural Missouri schools have highly qualified, compassionate teachers in their classrooms. This program is designed to meet that critical need.”
