LaVerne Manos, DNP is Dean and Professor and acts as the chief nursing administrator for Graceland University’s School of Nursing. She is a registered nurse, an ANCC board-certified informatics nurse, and a Fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association. Her career includes leadership in nursing education, health informatics, healthcare administration, accreditation, curriculum development, and clinical practice.
Before joining Graceland, Dr. Manos held academic leadership roles at A.T. Still University and the University of Kansas Medical Center. She has developed and led nursing, health administration, and health informatics programs; developed workforce-responsive curricula; guided accreditation and continuous-improvement initiatives; and mentored students and faculty. Her national service includes leadership with the American Medical Informatics Association and the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education.
Dr. Manos is committed to creating educational pathways that help students succeed, strengthening the nursing workforce, and preparing nurses to lead meaningful improvements in healthcare. Her interests include nursing leadership, informatics, emerging technology, interprofessional education, accreditation, workforce development, and the thoughtful use of data to improve health and learning.
My goal is to advance nursing through knowledge, technology, and compassionate leadership to improve health and strengthen communities.
