  • Saint Mary's Residence Hall DIrector

    Saint Mary’s University is hiring a full-time Residence Hall Director.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee a residence area consisting of 2-3 residence halls and approximately 150 to 250 student residents.
    • Supervise and mentor a team of 5-9 residents.
    • Manage the vibrant residential community within the residence halls that address the academic, spiritual, social, and physical needs of the residents.
    • Collaborate with other departments to promote departmental programs and services that respond to ongoing student needs and interests.
    • Collaborate with other departments to address the overall wellness of the students.
    • Coordinate routine duty night coverage for the hall and area.
    • Oversee general facility management and maintenance of area, including maintenance requests and cleanliness within the halls.
    • Share in the student experience by taking meals in the student dining hall during the academic year. Meal plan is included.
    • Participate in on-call rotation with other residence hall directors.
    • Assist in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of resident assistants, junior resident assistants and professional staff.
    • Address student issues arising from student conduct, counseling, and crisis-related concerns for the hall or area, investigating student conduct incidents and writing required reports.
    • Understand and train others on all residence life/judicial affairs software (i.e., eRezLife and Maxient).

  • Mediacom Internship Program

    The Mediacom Summer 2026 Internship Program is a 10-week program from June 1 – August 6, 2026. The hours are Monday – Thursday, 8am – 5pm and will be on site. The internship opportunities are located in Des Moines and West Des Moines, Iowa and are paid. The hourly compensation is $16.50 per hour.   • Samish Island Campground and Retreat Center Summer Internship

    Samish Island Campground & Retreat Center (SICRC) is looking for high school or undergraduate students, 18 years old or older, to expand their classroom knowledge by developing skills, habits, and experience in a hands-on work environment, while enjoying the great outdoors. This 8-10 week internship program, completed from June to August 2026, serves as a Manager-In-Training program, allowing the participants to focus on campground operations, kitchen management, and administration. Interns will train first-hand by working alongside our experienced managers, staff, and long-term volunteers.

    BACKGROUND

    Samish Island Campground & Retreat Center is situated on Samish Island in the beautiful and scenic San Juan Islands of the Puget Sound near the town of Bow, Washington. The campground was established in 1959 and is part of the traditional grounds of the Samish Indian Nation. It is owned and operated by Community of Christ for use by people seeking sacred experiences in the outdoors. The 87 acres include open space, forested areas, and beaches, offering a unique and serene environment for peace, fellowship, and learning.

    Samish Island Campground & Retreat Center is scheduled to host at least forty events in 2026 over 177 or more nights. With nearly 8400 estimated camper nights, over 25,000 meals will be served over a time span of forty weeks. Many of those meals will need to be customized for dietary preferences and to accommodate individual medical requirements.

    Samish Island Campground & Retreat Center is available for rent to non-profit and faith-based groups including mindfulness and meditation, artist, and recovery groups. We host Community of Christ youth and family camps and retreats in partnership with many culturally diverse communities. We continue to add new camper groups from all walks of life. Our facilities feature heated cabins for up to 270 guests, ADA accessible 4-plex cabins, and an RV park that can also accommodate tent camping. Our commercial kitchen and dining hall offer banquet seating for up to 200. The multipurpose fellowship center seats up to 500 and doubles as an indoor gymnasium.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Spend 8-10 weeks shadowing and working within the 3 core departments – grounds management, food service, and administration.
    • Duties may include working in all campground positions (guest services, maintenance, groundskeeping, food and beverage, housekeeping and operations).
    • Responsible for executing day-to-day activities assigned by Campground Director or other staff.
    • Develop and present a final project (to the SICA board) at the conclusion of the internship.
    • Responsible for participating in all internship components including scheduled shifts, internship meetings, and assigned projects

    Education and Experience:

    • Student interested in Management, Business, Communication, Hospitality Management, Entrepreneurship, Outdoor Recreation, Tourism and Recreation Management or related area of study.
    • Able to meet deadlines and work with internal team members while maintaining a self-directed approach to ongoing projects.
    • Ability to collaborate with a diverse population.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Must demonstrate excellent customer service.
    • Strong personal and community values ethic.
    • Current High School or Undergraduate student (age 18+)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Current driver’s license valid in Washington State

    Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

    • Work will be performed in multiple environments including: Office, kitchen, campground, indoors and outdoors.
    • Work will require the ability to operate a variety of equipment including: standard office equipment and keyboard, gardening and building maintenance equipment, chairs and tables, food service equipment, etc. This will necessitate the lifting and carrying of various items up to approximately 30 pounds.
    • Use of repetitive motion, standing, bending, sitting, lifting, and walking short distances.
    • May be expected to drive a vehicle around the campground as well as into local communities for purchase, transportation of supplies. Travel occurs in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
    • Frequent in-person interaction with SICRC employees in various settings, where noise level is typically low to moderate, including office spaces.
    • Will experience occasional interruptions and shifting priorities as led by the SICRC Campground Director.
    • Noise levels may be moderate to loud, especially when operating equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, or blowers. Noise protection will be provided.
    • Must be able to hear instructions and warnings in a noisy environment.
    • Frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds independently; pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
    • Occasionally lift and/or move heavier items with assistance or equipment; dexterity of hands and fingers.
    • Potential exposure to dust, pollen, grasses, landscaping materials, and other other allergens.
    • Maintaining balance while on ladders, working in and around water, on wet surfaces, or on elevated platforms.

    Job Details and Compensation

    • This internship program will be completed from June to August 2026.
    • Exact dates for this internship program will be negotiated with each successful candidate(s) and will vary depending on their school or educational schedules.
    • A stipend of $150.00 USD per week will be paid to the successful applicant.
    • Accommodation at SICRC will be provided for the entire negotiated internship schedule. This will include sole use of a designated rustic cabin and shared use of the rest of the campground facilities.
    • Meals will be provided when camps are in session. Meals will be eaten with other staff at a designated location.
    • This is a tobacco, drug and alcohol-free facility.
