ACT Test Information

The ACT test is administered at Graceland University(GU) for the October and April Test dates. The following test dates are available at other sites throughout the ETS target area.

ETS participants are eligible for 2 fee waivers for the ACT test. See your ETS advisor or guidance counselor to obtain this form.

ETS advisors schedule ACT test preparation workshops in their schools to help students become more successful on the test!


  • Students should arrive at their test site around 7:45 a.m.
  • Your admission ticket will have information where you can park, along with other details. Zimmerman Hall is the location for the test and free parking is available in the Lot beside Zimmerman (North of Closson Athletic Center).
  • You will be at the test site until approximately 12:00 noon if you're taking ACT without writing.


  • Picture ID
  • Pencils #2 lead- NO Mechanical Pencils
  • Calculator -look on website for illegal calculators
  • Test admission ticket. However, if you forget or lose your admission ticket, go to the test site anyway. As long as your name is on the roster you will be allowed to take the test. Just make sure you have an ID.

Educational Talent Search
"Career Day On Campus"

An annual Career Day event for high school sophomores is held in the fall of each school year on the Graceland University campus. The participants will be invited to attend from each one of the targeted school districts of the Educational Talent Search program. Each student will be engaged in activities and experience presentations from presenters who volunteer their time from the surrounding communities.
The careers represented will cover the Career Clusters of:

  • Arts & Communication
  • Environmental & Agricultural
  • Business & Management
  • Industry & Engineering
  • Human Resources & Services
  • Health Occupations

Each presenter will take the opportunity to inform the students about the educational requirements for their particular degrees, the importance of choosing college prep classes during high school and the significance of taking the ACT test.

The ETS mentoring consists of middle & high schools students who are recommended by their school counselors are selected and matched, one-to-one, with mentors from the Graceland University student population. The Graceland students can receive one credit per semester for mentoring through the GU Social Science Department. The mentors undergo a mentoring preparation process that includes a set of screening procedures, and orientation and training session.

Mentors and mentees are required to email one another a minimum of two times per week when school is in session. Group events and field trips are planned by the ETS mentoring coordinator. The mentors will also encourage their mentees to graduate from secondary school and to enroll in post secondary education.
