Black History Month Events - The African Americans: Many Rivers to Cross

February 16

4:00 pm

MSC Main Room

This month there are many ways to honor Black History. Black Student Union, The Humanities Division, Campus Ministries, the History Club and the Residence Life Peer Diversity Educators have organized opportunities to help the Graceland Community recognize this month. There is a large calendar posted on the wall in the MSC main room, which has daily events including next week's Black Week Activities. The Intercultural Office invites you to viewing opportunities taking place in the MSC Main Room. At 4 p.m. on Feb. 14-16 and Feb. 26-27, we will be showing one part each day of The African Americans: Many Rivers to Cross. This is an excellent historical documentary that takes you through the contributions of African Americans in American culture. This video is also available in our library. On Monday, Feb. 26, the documentary Roberta Flack: Killing Me Softly will be aired live on IPTV channel 11.1, but will be shown in the main room on Monday, Feb. 19 at 9:30 p.m. If you cannot make it to the screening in the MSC, we hope you can make the time to watch from your room or home.
