Rob Stephens Art Show

Helene Constance Gallery
Robert Stephens, Professor of Art at Graceland University, will be displaying paintings and woodcuts centered around the act of writing a love letter.
According to the artist's statement, the pieces in this show have been inspired by letters written by a variety of Americans to people they love or have loved. They are filled with words, regretfully, never spoken; words that should have been said; and words that still want to be heard. The show reflects on desire, regret and memories, and is a representation of the bravery that it takes to solidify one's vulnerability and fragility by expressing their feelings using permanent words on paper.
Graceland extends an invitation to the public to come enjoy the art created by Robert Stephens. A reception will be held Friday, February 7 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. that will include food and a chance to play Love Letter Roulette. And, perhaps, an opportunity for anyone to make a spectacular surprise wedding proposal?...
