Graceland offered five innovative courses this past May, collaborating with Dunfield House in Herefordshire for a memorable active learning and travel experience for nearly 50 students. Dunfield House, owned by Community of Christ and nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of England, offered the perfect home base to experience the British countryside. Memories for a lifetime were made by students and faculty, providing an immersion in cultural change from the Lamoni campus in Iowa.
“For me, the trip was an opportunity to experience a new environment. The narrow streets of London were filled with modern, glass business buildings alongside stout, brick townhouses that have lasted centuries. I was introduced to the busy tube system and the red double-decker buses that drove on the ‘wrong side’ of the road. The farmland was dotted with sheep that were always heard no matter how high on a hill I was. The calm of Dunfield made me feel like I had not only left the city but any problems in my life behind. I truly had an unforgettable experience, and I will have the memories to share with my peers and teachers for the rest of my life.”
