The Humanities department at Graceland University invites applications for Visiting Assistant Professor of Communication. The position begins August 2022 and is a one-year appointment. Candidates will have a Ph.D. in Communication, Rhetoric, or related field by August 2022.
Successful candidates will teach a variety of courses in the communication studies discipline. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated teaching success in two or more of the following areas: communication theory, advocacy communication, digital humanities, communication, interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, mass media, or argumentation and debate. The 4/4 teaching load also includes general education courses in Public Speaking with the possibility to teach Composition and argumentation classes. Candidates should highlight their experiences teaching these Humanities core courses in their application.
Demonstrated teaching excellence and a commitment to undergraduate teaching and service is required. We are looking for innovation-minded applicants who 1) can help shape and grow a program and 2) have demonstrated teaching excellence and a collaborative and interdisciplinary commitment to undergraduate liberal arts.
