Graceland University has an opening for a Desktop Support Analyst on the Lamoni, IA campus. This position provides hardware and software support for Graceland’s computer environment. Daily tasks will vary between working on support requests and working on projects. This person will be responsible for maintaining high customer service standards by resolving service requests with quality support in a timely manner.
Essential Functions: Equipment maintained will be mainly PC desktop and laptop computers, some Apple computers, printers, and scanners. Performing hardware and software upgrades is occasionally needed. Routinely computers will need to be physically moved for replacement which may also involve the initial software installation and configuration of the OS. This position will record support activities in our ticketing system. This position may also have more advance job functions involving management of MFPs, databases, group policies, and Active Directory. System and network security is always a high priority.
Qualifications: Ability to work well independently as well as in team environment, professional verbal and written communication with all constituents with both technical and non-technical issues, strong customer service focus with a good attitude and interpersonal skills is required. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office environment, hardware installation and/or troubleshooting is required for daily activities. Experience or familiarity with HP Web Jet Admin, advance skills with Microsoft Access, WMI controls, Microsoft Software Installer, Active Directory, Sophos, and Mac OS is a plus and will occasionally be needed. Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Microsoft SharePoint also preferred. Certifications with Network+ and A+ is also a plus but not required. Ability to lift and carry approximately 35 pounds.
