Associate Dean 50%/Assistant Professor of Nursing 50%

The Graceland University School of Nursing seeks an Associate Dean and Assistant/Associate Professor (12 months) Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (RN) for the graduate nursing program on the Independence, MO campus.

Required Qualifications:

·             Eligible for unencumbered licensure as an RN and/or APRN

·             A minimum of 2 years RN and/or APRN experience

·             Current clinical practice

·             Graduate of an accredited BSN and MSN Program

·             Able to assume a full time faculty position

·             Academic leadership experience in a School of Nursing

·             Earned doctorate in nursing or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

·         Certification as APRN: FNP, AGACNP, and/or PMHNP

Associate Dean Responsibilities

·             Reports directly to the Dean

·             Provides leadership for effective management of fiscal, human, and physical resources for graduate programs

·             Supervision of track coordinators, faculty, and staff

·             Course scheduling and teaching assignments each trimester

·             Hires faculty associates

·             Coordinates interviewing and hiring of full-time faculty and staff

·             Evaluations of faculty and staff

·             Policy and procedure development

Essential Duties and Responsibilities as Assistant/Associate Professor:

·             Manage courses in the MSN program and/or DNP program

·             Lead in the development and instruction of didactic and clinical courses

·             Provide service appropriate to the position

·             Engage in scholarship appropriate to the position

·             Demonstrate excellence in practice

·             Strong organizational, planning, and evaluation skills

·             Ability to demonstrate attention to detail

·             Excellent communication skills, oral, written, and telephone

·             Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively within a team
