Graceland University invites applications for the position of Director of the Seminary. This is a full-time administrative position, with teaching responsibilities, that begins September 2018. This position may be located in Lamoni, IA or in Independence, MO.
The successful candidate will oversee the seminary and religious studies at Graceland University and will engage in professional service with the Community of Christ to provide teaching and guest ministry as the Seminary’s representative. The Director will engage in strategic planning for the seminary in consultation with the Seminary Committee, church leadership, and other stakeholders, including strategic relations to other university academic and co-curricular programs
The Director will teach up to six courses a year in their area of expertise for both the undergraduate program and the Seminary. We are looking for innovative applicants who can 1) help shape and grow the program and 2) have demonstrated teaching excellence and a collaborative and interdisciplinary commitment to the university mission, and 3) demonstrated managerial skills, fiscal responsibility, budget management, strategic planning and fund-raising.
The successful candidate should have an earned doctorate from an accredited institution and active leadership experience in the Community of Christ.
