The C.H. Sandage School of Business at Graceland University is excited to announce that our growth plan includes a new full-time, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance position to begin in August 2025.
The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Finance, but those with a master’s degree with 18 credits completed in Finance will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. and industry experience in finance.
The C.H. Sandage School of Business seeks candidates with a record of teaching and service that highlights the school’s three curricular foundations: Global, Ethical, and Entrepreneurial. Teaching responsibilities include a 4/4 teaching load consisting of a wide range of finance courses. The candidate could also likely teach some business administration or accounting courses. In addition to normal service activities, the successful candidate will strive to find ways to advance Graceland’s unique student experience and grow the C.H. Sandage School of Business.
The key job responsibilities include:
- Teaching: Design and deliver courses related to finance, investment, corporate finance, financial management, and related subjects. Moreover, create course materials, develop syllabi, hold office hours, and deliver lectures to undergraduate students. Review and revise course content to ensure it remains relevant and aligned with industry trends, academic standards, and ethical practices. Collaborate with other faculty on program assessments.
- Service: Serve as academic advisor and mentor to students. Help students choose courses, provide guidance on career paths, and support academic and personal development. Additionally, participate in departmental and university committees.
- Professional Development: Stay current in the professional field and engage in ongoing professional development. This may involve attending conferences, workshops, seminars, and more. Other examples may include: Engaging with professionals in the finance industry to foster partnerships, internships, and job opportunities for the students, conducting research projects and supervising student research, and engaging with the broader community by providing financial literacy education, consulting for businesses, or participating in outreach programs related to finance.
