This year my goal has been to change some of the little things in my life to make a small impact on our earth. I recently switched from using a cheap, plastic toothbrush to using a biodegradable eco-friendly bamboo toothbrush. I had the idea to switch when I was brushing my teeth with my original toothbrush. I started questioning the number of plastic toothbrushes that are on this earth taking years to decompose. If you think about every person on this earth brushing their teeth with plastic toothbrushes and then throwing them in the trash every 6 months and purchasing a new one, over a lifetime of just one person that’s just an big amount of toothbrushes and plastic that we putting out into the world.

For most people, or at least me, it does not matter what my toothbrush is made out of but just that it does its job of cleaning my teeth. I don’t need my toothbrush to be plastic, so rather than cause unnecessary harm to the earth by using a plastic one, I have switched to a bamboo one.  I got two toothbrushes for around 10 dollars off the internet, they can be found on amazon or with a quick google search. Since I have had my new toothbrush, I haven’t had any problems with it. This is just another small way that I have changed my daily routines to try and lessen my impact on the world.

Don’t forget to keep checking my page for a post about my experience in eco arts and ceramics.
