Jeff Anderson, EdD
Faculty Associate - Community of Christ Seminary
Jeff Anderson, EdD, serves as Faculty Associate for Community of Christ Seminary at Graceland University. He earned his doctorate in Interdisciplinary Leadership from Creighton University where he focused his studies on how churches could develop public-private partnerships to bring resources to underserved urban communities. He holds graduate degrees in Theology from St. Mary’s Seminary and University and in Music Education from the University of Iowa.
Dr. Anderson served a nearly 14-year tenure as the director and pastor of The Power House, an urban outreach congregation of Community of Christ in inner-city Baltimore, Maryland, USA. He has a broad range of teaching experience, including graduate level coursework in practical theology at St. Mary’s Seminary and University; adult basic education at Baltimore City Community College; and history, geography and music courses in challenged urban public schools. He has been honored by the American Bible Society with their Excellence in Academics and Ministry award.
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Anderson is active in the community. He was appointed by the Mayor of Baltimore to serve on the Community Oversight Task Force, a mandate from the United States Department of Justice, to address issues of police abuse. He is a founding member of the Friends of Carroll Park and serves on the Alumni Council of St. Mary’s Seminary and University.
Dr. Anderson enjoys writing and has authored several books ranging from personal devotionals, academic research, historic documentation and children’s books. He is an avid visitor to national parks and historic sites in the United States and Canada and enjoys attending major league baseball games.
