Accepted - Now What?

When You're Accepted

So you’ve applied and been accepted to Graceland University. Congratulations! Now what? What can you expect to happen from now until the time you actually arrive on campus? Here is a list of things for you to complete before then. You may have already done some of these.

  • Apply and audition for scholarships and grants. These are available in art, drama, music, writing, entrepreneurship and athletics. We also have alumni grants, congregational matching grants (any denomination) and church leadership grants (for members of the sponsoring church). If you have questions about these, talk to your admissions counselor. He or she will be happy to explain how they work.
  • Ask your high school to send us your final official transcript, including rank in class after graduation.
  • To confirm your plans to attend Graceland, you need to submit your $200 deposit. This holds your place in the entering class, reserves your financial aid package, and assures you priority in choosing your room and roommate. You can make your deposit via check, money order, or by credit card - online or by calling our office.
  • Make plans to come for an individual campus visit or attend a Graceland For A Day visit program. You can call us or register on-line to schedule your visit.
  • Attend Early Orientation in the spring. You will have four opportunities to do this: they are held in April, May and June. This program gives you more information about GU’s services and programs, gives you the opportunity to meet face to face with your financial aid advisor, and lets you register for fall classes.
  • If you can’t attend Early Orientation, call the CAP Center to make an appointment to register for your classes by phone. You should take a look at the four-year graduation plan for your proposed major before you register, so you can be knowledgeable of your major’s class requirements.
  • Check out our Dates to Remember to find dates for campus programs, scholarship application deadlines and new student arrivals. Give our Admissions Office a call if you have any questions about those events.
  • Be sure to review our housing information and remember to fill out your housing request before June 1st.
  • Review the Orientation Information to make sure you are all set for this fall.

You’ve made a great choice in Graceland. See you on campus soon!
