Visual Communications and Studio Art are majors in Graceland University's Division of Fine Arts. The art faculty takes an active role in developing student potential and directing art majors toward future educational and career goals. All art majors take sophomore and senior seminars that teach the professional skills required in their fields - portfolio development, framing, matting, exhibit preparation, career research and graduate school application.
Facilities and Exhibit Opportunities
The Helene Center for the Visual Arts, Graceland University's new arts facility, will be completed during the 2004 academic year. The center will feature state-of-the-art studio facilities and a display gallery. Each art student has an opportunity to exhibit individual works in a juried setting with their peers. In their senior year, all art majors mount a comprehensive exhibition of their work.
