Economics is the foundation of business, and an understanding of this area is excellent preparation for graduate study in business and law. Or combine the Economics major with a Business major for a program that sets you apart from other Business graduates as a scholar as well as a business professional.
The Economics major is built around a core of courses including macro-economics and micro-economics theory and a research seminar. Students develop an understanding of economic theory and the ability to interpret and use quantitative methodology and analysis in economic problem solving. Electives enable students to focus on their special areas of interest. Graduates enter careers in areas such as business and finance or pursue graduate degrees in law, business or economics.
