Financial Aid for Teachers

We know that financing your continuing education may be one of your biggest concerns. The following information is provided to make the process easier and more understandable. Below you will find specifics about tuition, the types of financial aid available, and payment options.

Federal Aid: The Master of Education programs are eligible for Federal Financial aid in the form of William D. Ford Direct Loans and Perkins Loans. You can apply for these loans by going online to www.fafsa.ed.gov and fiing a FAFSA using Graceland’s school code of 001866. These loans are low interest loans and payment is deferred until six months after you graduate or withdraw from our program. Forms can be printed from the website or filed directly online.

Once your FAFSA is filed, verification completed if necessary, and you have completed the admissions process to Graceland, an award notice with the amount of aid you are eligible for in a one year’s time period will be mailed to your home address. Until you have completed the financial aid process, student accounts will require that you make payments on the classes you enroll in.

Once your aid package is in place, you will be reimbursed with your loan money. (NOTE: Verification is a strictly random selection process required by the government. If you are selected, it will require the submission of a signed copy of your U.S. federal income tax return, copies of W-2s, and a completed verification worksheet which will be sent to you by Graceland.)

In addition, you should check your local lending institutions for programs they may also have in place. Most of these will offer deferred payment and lower interest rates.

Payment Plan: Graceland is pleased to offer an easy, interest-free payment plan. Education costs for your two year program (tuition and fees) will be divided into twenty equal monthly payments. Cost of books or materials can be included for some programs (Quality Schools). A one time non-refundable processing fee of $35 will be charged for this option. Payments will be charged against your elected bank card or checking account. If you wish to take full advantage of this plan, your counselor will assist you in this process.
