Stewart Manor is part of Graceland University's unique house system which the school stresses:
...[It is] based on the principle of inclusion that recognizes the importance of each student attending the university and celebrates the individuality of each person. [1]
Each residence hall is divided into several "houses," which "puts you in touch instantly with a circle of friends." [2] Stewart Manor resides on the top floor of Graybill (see photo below). Unless you request to change, you will remain part of Stewart Manor even if you move off campus. In fact, more than half our members currently live off campus.
Whether on or off campus, all are encouraged to participate with the house in activities such as intramurals, house meetings, functions, house devotions, and other events. However, participation in any house activity is completely voluntary.
Unlike Greek life, the houses are not divided up by general interest or academic study. On the contrary, people of varied talents and interests bring a unique character to each house. Although the Graceland house system pre-dates the J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series by more than 30 years, it closely resembles the house system in place at Hogwarts. We do not not have a quidditch team, but our flag football teams are almost as competitive and Stewart Manor has done quite well in intramurals of the past few years.

Everyone who is here belongs here just because he or she is here, and for no other reason.
