International Student Teaching
Graceland University's Gleazer School of Education is proud to offer students a once in a lifetime opportunity to gain valuable experiences traveling and teaching abroad.
New Zealand
The New Zealand educational system is hailed as one of the best in the world, thanks to its unique approach to holistic learning, cooperative teaching, and child centered instruction.
The New Zealand student teaching experience takes place during the Spring Semester. Participants leave at the end of January and are placed in a school for six weeks. Participants may rent a house and stay together or they may be placed with local families for a homestay experience. After returning, participants finish their required student teaching experience in the United States.

New Zealand Students
Students have said:
The value I gained from this experience can hardly be put into words. Kiwi's (New Zealander's) are so welcoming and hospitable. While student teaching there I gained more confidence in my teaching and experienced guided reading taught in the country where it originated. I also gained new friends that feel like family and found a place that feels like a second home."
