PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Co-authored application for FINE Award for Lamoni Elementary School. Our School was selected as a FINE school in the State of Iowa.
  • Co-authored US West technology grant to purchase computers and computer equipement.
  • Authored Dekko grant to fund a Science Sleepover for students.
  • Authored a Thematic Curriculum Reference for Lamoni Schools.
  • STAT (StudentTeacher Assistance Team) member. Helping teachers work with at-risk students.
  • Initiated nd organized Green Valley TAWL, a professional language arts group for teachers. Seved as president, delegate to national conference.
  • Served on the Governor's Planning Council for Math and Science.
  • Co-initiated and served on the steering committee for the Green Valley AEA Young Writer's Conference.
  • Selected as the Math Demonstration Classroom for Green Valley AEA. Taught area teachers as they observed in my classroom.
  • Served on the Green Valley AEA Media Advisory Council.
  • Designed and organized Science Outdoors Days for Lamoni students.
  • Initiated and organized Science Discovery Days for Llamoni Elementary students (K-9).
  • Served on professional committees and task forces: South Central Consortium Math Committee, Conflict Resolution Management Committee, and District Math and Language Arts Task Forces.
  • Implemented communiy sevice project in which third graders raised money and purchased books for the Lamoni Community Library.
  • Implemented High School National Honor Society and Third Grade buddy program.
