Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) to RN Program
Graceland is proud of its Nursing program graduates. Since 2006, BSN-RN Nursing program graduating classes have consistently achieved NCLEX pass rates of 97 to 100%!
Graceland University School of Nursing takes pride in developing graduates who internalize caring values and foster ethical practice. Successful achievement in the humanities is basic to understanding the whole person and his/her response in health and illness. According to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, courses in the arts, sciences, and humanities provide a forum for the study of values, ethical principles, and the physical world as well as opportunities to reflect and apply knowledge gained to professional practice. A liberal education promotes critical thinking, the basis for clinical judgment and ethical decision-making. You will learn the art and science of nursing through a combination of liberal arts and science courses in the BSN degree program at Graceland University.
As a graduate of Graceland University's BSN program you will earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. A Bachelor's degree in nursing helps to provide a multitude of opportunities in the health care field.
Our BSN program is offered through our campus in Independence, Missouri. This is just two hours south of the Graceland main campus in Lamoni, Iowa. Each summer a new group of nursing students begin their program as sophomores with two courses during the first part of July. Once summer courses are completed, students return to the Independence, MO campus to officially begin their junior year in nursing school.
How our program works:
We have two available options.
Option 1.)
The freshman and sophomore years of a residential program are completed on the Graceland University main campus in Lamoni, IA.
Students enjoy a true university experience. The Lamoni campus has a diverse cultural background with students from around the globe. In the summer months following the sophomore year, student will attend nursing classes at the Independence, MO campus. Once those courses are complete students officially matriculate into the nursing program as juniors at the beginning of their fall semester.
Option 2.)
If you already have the required lower division general education courses from previous college work, you may transfer those credits into Graceland University. An Associates of Arts degree is not required as long as the incoming student possess the total number of appropriate credit hours.
Please Note: Graceland University offers an accelerated option program, allowing graduates to finish in January instead of May!
Our Accelerated Option program is available for the high achiever who wishes to complete their nursing degree in January of the senior year rather than in May. It is a fast paced program requiring completion of a senior level course during the junior year, two senior level courses during the summer between the junior and senior year, and completion of a clinical practicum in approximately four weeks during January right before graduation.
Limited numbers of accelerated option students are accepted into the program. To be eligible to apply for the accelerated option program, one must complete the required 69 semester hours, have no less than a minimum GPA of 3.0, and have completed all but six semester hours of the required general education courses.
